Almost Human

While watching the latest episode of Almost Human my wife tells me that the show's ratings are not good. If this show gets canceled, it would be a shame. It is a good combination of serious subject matter and humor.

Almost takes place in the future. A future that features cyborg police officers assisting their human counterparts. Karl Urban plays the grumpy Detective John Kennex and nobody plays grumpy like Karl Urban. Michael Ealy plays Detective Kennex's cyborg partner Dorian. An older model that has been labeled "crazy" and replaced by a newer model of squeaky clean looking white guys.

Urban and Ealy play well off each other as partners who on the surface act like they don't like each other, but deep down they have the typical TV cop camaraderie. They insult each other which adds to much needed humor while solving cases that have a darker component such as organ harvesting. Urban and Ealy are the heart and soul of the show. The supporting cast of Lily Taylor and Mackenzie Crook and some depth. The love interest played by Minka Kelly seems forced and unnecessary, but not distracting. Thankfully.

Almost Human is executive produced by JJ Abrams and is on Fox Monday nights.

All and all I love this show. Please watch it. I would like to see it survive.
